After this course you can
Identify the job demands in a front-line role that raise the risk of an occupational stress injury, and name the early signs in a peer as observations, not a diagnosis.
Recognize when shift-related sleep loss is affecting mood or safety in yourself or a peer, and apply at least three practical sleep habits to a real rotation.
Compare the patterns of fatigue, burnout, and possible depression in a peer case, explain which response fits each, and know when to refer rather than reassure.
Identify the barriers that keep front-line colleagues from asking for help, and use specific words and actions that make it safer to speak up on your team.
Raise a concern about a colleague's alcohol or other substance use without judgment, link it to coping rather than character, and respond correctly to a possible overdose.
Build a complete personal resilience and help-seeking plan with warning signs, coping actions, people, professional supports, crisis contacts for your region, and a review date.

How recorded assessment works
Final exams include a recorded demonstration. You upload a recording of your screen and voice. AI services turn your speech into text and help rate it against the course rubric, and a Verten assessor reviews on request or by sample. We do not use facial recognition. Verten staff who run assessments can view it, and each view is logged. Recordings may be stored or processed outside Canada. We delete them 12 months after your result (6 months if you are under 18). You can withdraw consent at any time, and you can ask for an alternative assessment without giving a reason. Learners under 18 need a parent or guardian to consent.
