Verten Academy — Legal
Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Verten Academy uses cookies and similar technologies, what they do, and the choices you have. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember your actions and preferences — such as keeping you signed in — over a period of time. Similar technologies include local storage and pixels; we refer to all of these as “cookies” in this policy.
2. The cookies we use
| Category | What it does | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Signs you in, keeps your session active and secure, and protects against fraudulent requests. The platform cannot function without these. | Supabase authentication and session cookies |
| Functional | Remembers your preferences so you don’t have to set them on every visit. | Language preference, cart contents |
| Payment | Set by our payment provider during checkout to process payments securely and prevent fraud. | Stripe cookies (checkout pages) |
| Analytics | Helps us understand aggregate usage — which pages are visited and which courses are popular — so we can improve the platform. This data does not identify you personally. | Google Analytics (GA4) |
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell data collected through cookies.
3. Third-party cookies
Payment and analytics cookies are set by third parties (Stripe and Google). These providers act under their own privacy policies: practices for Stripe are described at stripe.com/privacy, and for Google Analytics at policies.google.com. We configure analytics to collect aggregate usage data, not to build advertising profiles.
4. Managing cookies
- Cookie banner — on your first visit, a banner lets you accept or reject analytics cookies; your choice is remembered and applied on future visits.
- Browser controls — every major browser lets you block or delete cookies through its settings. Consult your browser’s help pages for instructions.
- Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled without breaking sign-in and core platform functions.
- Analytics opt-out — you can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using Google’s browser opt-out add-on.
5. Changes to this policy
If we start using new categories of cookies, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above.
