Verten Academy — Legal
IP & Copyright Notice
This notice describes who owns the content and technology on Verten Academy, what you are licensed to do with it, and how to report intellectual property infringement (including copyright takedown requests).
1. Ownership
All course content, certifications, platform features, matching algorithms, and data structures are proprietary to Workforce Development and Management Corp. Reproduction, redistribution, reverse engineering, or resale of any content or feature is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination and legal action.
This includes course videos, workbooks, quizzes and assessments, certificate designs and certificate codes, the Verten and Verten Academy names and logos, and the platform’s software, design, and underlying data structures. Third-party materials that appear on the platform remain the property of their respective owners and are used under licence.
2. Your licence as a learner
Enrolling in a course grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and view that course’s materials for your own learning, for the duration of your enrollment window. No other rights are granted. This licence does not permit downloading, recording, copying, publishing, or sharing any course material, and it ends when your enrollment expires or your account is terminated. See our Acceptable Use Policy for the full conduct rules.
3. Trademarks
“Verten”, “Verten Academy”, and the Verten logo are trademarks of Workforce Development and Management Corp. You may not use them — or confusingly similar marks — in any product, service, domain name, or marketing material without our prior written consent. Truthfully stating that you hold a Verten certification is always permitted.
4. Reporting copyright infringement
We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect the same of our users. If you believe content on Verten Academy infringes your copyright or other IP rights, send a notice to hello@verten.ca with the subject line “IP Infringement Notice”, including:
- Identification of the work you claim is infringed, and proof of your ownership or your authority to act for the owner.
- The exact location of the allegedly infringing material on the platform (URL or course/lesson name).
- Your full name, organisation (if any), and contact details.
- A statement, made in good faith, that the use is not authorised by the rights owner, its agent, or the law, and that the information in your notice is accurate.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Our administrators are alerted to IP infringement reports within 24 hours, and we aim to respond within 72 hours. Where a notice is valid, we will remove or disable access to the material and notify the user who posted it.
5. Counter-notification
If material you posted was removed and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address containing: identification of the removed material and its former location, a good-faith statement explaining why the removal was erroneous, your contact details, and your signature. We will review counter-notices and may restore material where the claim of infringement is not substantiated.
6. Repeat infringers and misuse
- Accounts that repeatedly infringe intellectual property rights will be terminated.
- Knowingly submitting a false infringement notice or counter-notice may expose you to liability and will be treated as a violation of our Acceptable Use Policy.
