After this course you can
Given a record, message, or conversation at work, decide whether it holds personal health information and who may see it, using need-to-know and the least information needed.
Given a request to share information by email, phone, chat, or with a family member, school, or other provider, check identity, authority, minimum, and channel before sharing, and record what was shared.
Given a possible privacy breach, recognize it, contain it, report it to the privacy officer at once, and record the facts.
Given an Ontario case, apply the PHIPA rules on agents, consent, access and correction requests, and breach notice, and prepare the facts the privacy officer needs to decide on notice to the individual and to the IPC.

How recorded assessment works
Final exams include a recorded demonstration. You upload a recording of your screen and voice. AI services turn your speech into text and help rate it against the course rubric, and a Verten assessor reviews on request or by sample. We do not use facial recognition. Verten staff who run assessments can view it, and each view is logged. Recordings may be stored or processed outside Canada. We delete them 12 months after your result (6 months if you are under 18). You can withdraw consent at any time, and you can ask for an alternative assessment without giving a reason. Learners under 18 need a parent or guardian to consent.

Every person at an autism service provider handles private information about children and families: a name on a schedule, a session note, a voicemail, an invoice. This course builds the habits that keep that information safe. You learn to spot personal health information, decide who may see it, share it safely by email, phone, chat, and with families, and act fast when something goes wrong. The last module covers the Ontario rules: the Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 and breach reporting to the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.
