After this course you can
Given observations at work, identify possible signs of harm to a child and record them as facts, without investigating.
Given a disclosure or a concern, respond calmly, keep the child safe, and prepare and make a report the same day, in person and without delegating it.
Given an incident, write a factual, complete, and timely incident report and record the follow-up.
Given an Ontario situation, apply the duty to report under the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, 2017 and the other reporting rules that reach OAP provider staff.

How recorded assessment works
Final exams include a recorded demonstration. You upload a recording of your screen and voice. AI services turn your speech into text and help rate it against the course rubric, and a Verten assessor reviews on request or by sample. We do not use facial recognition. Verten staff who run assessments can view it, and each view is logged. Recordings may be stored or processed outside Canada. We delete them 12 months after your result (6 months if you are under 18). You can withdraw consent at any time, and you can ask for an alternative assessment without giving a reason. Learners under 18 need a parent or guardian to consent.

Learn to notice possible signs of harm to a child and to respond calmly when a child or parent tells you something worrying. You learn to report it yourself, right away, and to write an incident report that a manager, a children's aid society, or an auditor can rely on. You prove each skill on a recording of your screen and voice, explaining what you did and why. Ontario law is taught in one clearly labeled module.
