Record and submit your demonstration
Record yourself doing the task, upload it, and get a result, assessed with the assistance of AI, with evidence for each criterion.
Most courses end with a recorded demonstration of the skill. Your recording is assessed with the assistance of AI against the criteria in your brief. First aid courses are different: an instructor watches you in person (see the FAQ).
Before your first recording (once only)
- Pass the module's knowledge test. The recording panel, Your recorded demonstration, then opens below it.
- Enter your Date of birth and click Save. You cannot change it later yourself.
- Read the consent text, tick the box and click I consent.
- Under 18? Enter a parent or guardian's name and email and click Send request. We email them a link, which works for 14 days. You can submit once they consent.
Record
- Read the brief for the task you need to show.
- Record yourself doing it. Say what you are doing and why as you go. Your recording is assessed from what you say and show.
- Keep it to 37 minutes or less. Record in 1080p or lower, not 4K.
Upload and submit
- Under Submit your recording, choose your file in Recording file. Accepted: MP4, WebM or MOV video, or MP3, M4A, WebM or WAV audio.
- If your brief allows the demonstration in segments, add Part 2 and Part 3 in the order you recorded them. The limits apply to all the files together, and they count as one attempt.
- Click Upload and submit. Keep the page open while it uploads. If your connection drops, it picks up where it stopped.
- Wait while the status changes from “Transcribing your recording…” to “Rating each criterion…”. This usually takes a few minutes.
- Read your result. Each criterion is rated Not Yet, Demonstrated or Exemplary, with evidence quoted from your recording.
How you pass
You pass when the knowledge section is 80% or higher and every criterion is Demonstrated or Exemplary. Your result reads “Passed. Assessed with the assistance of AI.” and your certificate is issued automatically.
Limits: up to 37 minutes and 5 GB in total, up to 3 files, and 3 attempts. If a recording cannot be assessed (for example, no speech), it does not use up an attempt.
Your recordings and privacy
Recordings are private. Only you and authorized Verten staff can open them, and every access is logged. They are deleted 12 months after the decision (6 months if you are under 18). To delete them sooner, click Withdraw my consent and delete my recordings in the recording panel.
